About Owl Impact
The work gets done every day.
The evidence is what goes missing.
Owl Impact is software for organisations that do good work and struggle to evidence it. What happened —
hours, outcomes, progress, time given — is logged at the time, by the person who did it. It comes back out as the
report your funder, board or commissioner asked for.
Built in North Wales, for the third sector in Wales first.
Why it exists
The delivery is real. The record of it lives in inboxes, notebooks and one colleague's memory. When a funder asks
for a progress report, someone spends a week rebuilding a year. Nobody had a way to keep evidence that was quicker
than not keeping it.
If logging something takes longer than the thing took to happen, nobody will do it. Every screen is built so a busy
person can record what happened in seconds, on a phone.
What it records
Three measures, kept separate, so each one stands up on its own when someone asks where a figure came from.
Outcomes
What changed for the person or organisation you supported, against your own framework. A first job, a business
registered, a funding award.
Distance travelled
Progress for people whose change doesn't land inside a reporting year. Before and after, as its own measure.
How it works →
Social value & in-kind
Staff time, volunteer hours and donated professional time, costed at recognised rates agreed in advance.
The method →
One dashboard. Filter by programme, funder, region, quarter or year. Every line in the
report traces back to the entry that produced it.
Who it's for
Charities, CICs and social enterprisesReporting to funders, tendering with social value weighting, or
checking the model works.

Membership bodies and support agencies running a funded programmeA multi-year grant, a target
number of organisations to reach, and a funder who will want to know who they were, what support they got and what
changed. The list of organisations and the evidence of each one's progress live in one place, and the year-end
return is built from what was logged as it happened. Owl Impact can be built into your funding bid as the
monitoring and evaluation line — the evidence layer your funder already expects — so it's covered by the grant,
not your own budget.
Funders and umbrella organisationsOne shape of evidence across a portfolio or membership, each grantee
seeing their own figures.

What it doesn't do
- No SROI ratio and no accreditation it doesn't hold. Social value is costed, traceable activity at recognised
proxy rates, with the rate and its source stamped on every report.
- No money value on distance travelled. Progress is reported as progress.
- No data about the people you support. They are identified by a code; you keep the key, offline.
- No rollout project. Your team gets a personal link and logs from a phone. The first report comes from real data
within weeks.
Who's behind it
Owl Impact is built and run by ATO Insight
Solutions, Northop, Flintshire, and is part of the AsktheOwl® suite, which began in careers education and employer
engagement in North Wales. Setup is a conversation, not a form: what you need to show, to whom, and by when.
Twenty minutes, and you'll see the real thing
Not slides. The live product, with sample data, showing what your team would log and what lands on your desk
when the report is due.
